With the exception of the original stub, this page was created by a current staff member of Augsburg College. Please send an e-mail to this user and that staff member will send an e-mail from an Augsburg College e-mail account stating this. The photographs were supplied by the external relations office of Augsburg College. --MacSigh 06:51, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)

They really, really should've included that information in their edit. The only problem with them being an employee and submitting the information is that the information still isn't in the public domain, and they may have not received official permission from the college to post that information elsewhere on-line. Rather than contacting that specific user, the college itself should be contacted about this. Beginning 15:32, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)
OK ... and what does "the College" need to do? How does the College represent itself to Wikipedia? One needs to know that in order to engage the correct person within the institution. Does the chief public relations officer fit the bill? --MacSigh 04:36, Jan 11, 2005 (UTC)

They have to put the picture in the public domain or make it subject to the GNU General Public License. Michael Hardy 01:37, 12 Feb 2005 (UTC)

This article reads a little too much like a brochure

The beginning is great, but the section "A college in the city" needs to be revised, "Serving diverse needs" could use a rework and retitle, and "Opportunities on campus" and "Mission" just sound too much like an advertisement. The fact that some of these edits, as evidenced above, are by a staff member only make it more alarming and non-NPOV. My first thought is to erase the offending sections, but I want to see if there's anyone who would be willing to take the initiative to do "repair" work and separate the wheat from the chaff (or puffery). --Bobak 15:54, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for sharing your comments. WRT NPOV and Mission -- the mission statement of the college is listed accurately word for word. In skimming other pages about organizations it seems that their mission statement is also listed in a similar way so clarification of your concerns would help. Specifically, why is listing the Mission statement word for word not acceptable?

Your point about NPOV in other sections seems to be a suggestion to take a more factual or perhaps a more journalistic approach. Do I understand you correctly? Again, thanks for your comments and I look forward to your responses.

P.S. Full disclosure: I am the President of the Augsburg Alumni Association. I am not the writer of any of the articles in Wikipedia on Augsburg. I do want to see an accurate and useful discussion of Augsburg included in Wikipedia. Barry 19:22, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

  • I deleted or re-wrote most of the advertising in the 2nd section. If it is not acceptable, please leave me a message--Thomas.macmillan 00:06, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Center for Global Education

There is nothing on this page about the Center for Global Education, which is attached to Augsburg College. I was going to create a separate page for it, but I'm not sure that is the way to proceed. Should it be part of this page or should it have its own page? (So you know, I'm an ex-student of the CGE, but not of Augsburg College itself) Isaiah 15:34, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Marcus LeVesseur

Marcus LeVesseur, '07 4-time Wrestling National Champion (2003–05, 2007), 4-time Minnesota State High School Wrestling Champion (1998–2001). LeVesseur is the first Division III wrestler win four national titles. He is only the second college wrestler ever to finish his career unbeaten and untied, with a 155–0 career record (Cael Sanderson was the first). LeVesseur is currently competing in Mixed Martial Arts.

I think he should have is own article. His efforts at Augsburg must meet the notability requirements for Athlete. Calebrw (talk) 23:46, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Title in italics???

Anyone know why the title of the Augsburg College article is in italics? More importantly, how does it get fixed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.209.38.220 (talk) 21:50, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
