Date of abolition
editI have removed the statement that the office was abolished in August 1921, as Brown still held it as late as 9th November 1921 - see Hansard for that date
Hugh Law
editThe article currently says "Hugh Law: 1873 ??". This may be based on Elrington Ball's 'The Judges in Ireland', Volume 2, pages 373-4. However: -
1. The same work at pages 369-70 says that Christopher Palles remained Attorney-General until he was appointed as Lord Chief Baron in 1874.
2. Cook & Keith, 'British Political Facts, 1830-1900', page 30 gives Palles as the last Attorney-General and Law as the last Solicitor General of the Liberal government which left office in 1874.
I therefore propose to delete the above reference.
