Article is not being very clear about the use of temperature

edit

To have a temperature you need to have a thermometer which has reached a steady state when exposed, generally speaking, to sources of energy that have many different temperatures.

The thermosphere for example is not very hot for a thermometer placed in the thermosphere. The thermosphere is only hot when we consider the temperature of the matter in the thermosphere, while at the same time the thermosphere is very thinly populated with matter and is essentially in what can be considered outerspace. I'm not sure that Atmospheric temperature range needs to be separate from this article, the topics seem to overlap greatly and a comprehensive treatment here would obviate that second article. --Wtshymanski (talk) 21:28, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
