Registration in the Bermudas? edit

The Aircraft shown in the picture here has a registration starting with VP-B and is thus registered in the Bermudas. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_registration#List_of_countries.2Fregions_and_their_registration_prefixes_and_patterns for country codes in Aircraft registrations.

I recently saw an Atlant-Soyuz plane registered VQ-BCH, also a Bermuda registration number.

Does anyone know why these Russian planes are registered in the Bermudas? Is that worth noting in the article?
