The overall festival normally concludes on the third sunday with street dancing, Higantes, blessings, and other activities scheduled during the week(s) prior to the Sto. Niño which the Catholic church celebrates on the 3rd sunday of January.

The spaniards arrived in the Bisiyan islands c.1565AD renamed it in honor of thier King Philipp and introduced christianity to the local people(s).

Sometime afterwards, c.???? Santo Niño was combined with Ati-atihan festival.
