Prior to the competition

edit

Will the people who keep updating the "prior to this competition" section, please stop? The fact that Bolt set both records in this competition does not retroactively change the fact that the previous olympic record was set in 1996, and that Bolt's previous world record was slower.--Hinakana (talk) 14:52, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Apology

edit

I tried to change the table back to the record as it was before the race and to leave a message to those who kept changing it back to the new record. By the time I finished, though, someone else had already reverted the change.

I would like to apologize to Tcncv and to tell him that the comments to my edit were not directed to him, but to those who keep putting the new record in the previous records table. I assume those doing that are some of the more ignorant of my countrymen. Respectfully, SamBlob (talk) 22:43, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

No apology necessary. It seems to be a recurring problem with editors changing the prior-records table. I don't blame the editors, since it is only natural to record the new record under the records section. They just failed to read and understand the preceeding statement. That's why I've started adding a new-record table to several pages. Mostly swimming so far. -- Tcncv (talk) 22:43, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
