Stanley Smith returns to the Spankers

As of July 25, 2010, Wammo left the band, with no public reason given. The band's manager released the following via email on July 21, 2010: There will be a more detailed announcement soon, but it was decided a few days ago that the Spankers will come to an end after this year. We will try to play one more show in all of our favorite cities and will announce a complete farewell concert schedule and more detailed info about our plans in the next few weeks. Breakup and Final Tour

The birth of Christina's 3rd child and Wammo's first in 2009 would have an impact on the band's future focus and changed the touring dynamic in a new direction.

On July 21, 2010, John Redie, Christina's husband and long time band manager, released the following statement vial fan email: There will be a more detailed announcement soon, but it was decided a few days ago that the Spankers will come to an end after this year. We will try to play one more show in all of our favorite cities and will announce a complete farewell concert schedule and more detailed info about our plans in the next few weeks. Starting in Corpus Christi tomorrow, all shows are now part of "Spanks for Everything: The Farewell Tour. Wammo, citing legal advice, refused public comment.

A documentary charting the band's history is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2010.

Point of View pushing

Recent edits on this article, particularly the "Breakup and Farewell Tour" subsection, have included statements about individuals that are unreferenced and amount to breaches of the WP:NPOV policy, especially relating to living persons. Marrs

Christina Marrs was always my favorite of the members of the band. I am looking for information on her parentage/kinship. Both Jim Marrs & Texe Marrs are also from Texas, Texe having taught at UT at Austin, and at least one of his ministries was hq’d there. Possible coincidence, but the spelling of their surname does not seem to be that common. Does anyone know? Possibly she married a Marrs, and quite possibly she was not from Austin at all, but the music is political enough that I feel sure she is at least aware of Jim & Texe. Texe’s obit doesn’t list her among many survivors, and there seem to be more “Marrs”, esp “Jim Marrs”, than I would have expected.
