Disclaimer as a reviewer: this article is on my watchlist due to heavy vandalism, so you will see edits from me throughout the edit history. I don't think any of my contributions can be classed as substantial, but feel free to check it out and flag it if you disagree. As Disney Channel articles go, this is certainly one of the best ones. Not too overloaded with gushing and gossip. My issues are:

  • Image use. I know some people really like liberal illustration, but how many blurry photographs of Tisdale performing songs from "High School Musical" does an article really need? The images detract from the article, they don't add to it.
  • That armpit spray thing. At least the article no longer devotes an entire subsection to deodorant endorsements, but this still seems excessively prominent. The EP gets covered as if it is a real release, and then again as an endorsement.
  • Mayor of Oyster Bay How is the name of her role in a 16 year old film still listed as "TBA"?
  • Filmography in general: There is a separate filmography article, so why is there still such an extensive one in the main article?
  • Even though it is better than most Disney articles, it is still trivia heavy. For example Later, she recorded a cover version of "Some Day My Prince Will Come" alongside Drew Seeley for a DisneyMania album. Tisdale also appeared in the two episodes of MTV's Punk'd[14]. She appeared in the Disney Channel Games 2006 as captain of the Green Team. Tisdale tried out for the role of Erin on Final Destination 3 but was not cast.[15] Are these things really events in her career? Failed auditions? Appearances in cable network faux athletic competitions? Cover versions of soundtrack soungs for Disney sing-a-long records? Tisdale may not be a major star, but she's a big enough one that these things should be relegated to the trivia basement.—Kww(talk) 13:25, 11 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lead expanded. The filmography page was redirected to the main page a couple weeks ago. Gimmetrow 14:39, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

This article is in decent shape, but it needs more work before it becomes a Good Article.

  1. Is it well written?
    A. The prose is clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct:
Throughout the article, there needs to be a consistency between "Tisdale" or "Ashley", so fix it. In the Early work section, "During the late 1990s, Tisdale made guest appearances in several television series, which included George Lopez, Smart Guy, 7th Heaven, Grounded for Life, Strong Medicine, Charmed, and Beverly Hills, 90210. For her role in Boston Public she received a 2000 Young Artist Award nomination for best guest performance in a TV drama"[13]", why is there a quotation mark after drama? Were you looking to add a period? In the 2005-2006: The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and High School Musical section, "As the series became popular, Tisdale became a featured performer on the Disney Channel and received a voice role in Whisper of the Heart", remove "popular" since it is a peacock term, per here. In the 2007-2008: Headstrong and other projects section, "#6" ---> "number six". In the Image and personal life section, "#94" ---> "number 94".

    B. It complies with the manual of style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation:
The infobox has the date ---> "2 July 1985", the article appears with dates like, "July 2, 1985" and should have a date consistency format, per here. In the lead, it would be more encyclopedic if "#5" was changed to "number five". Same section, "Billboard 200" italicize "Billboard" per here. In the 2005-2006: The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and High School Musical section, italicize the mentions of "Billboard". Same section, italicize "Disney Channel Circle of Stars". In the 2007-2008: Headstrong and other projects section, italicize "Billboard" and "TRL". Same section, link "Be Good to Me" and "Picture This" once, per here. Same section, correctly link "Time after Time" to its correspondence article. In the 2009: Future projects section, italicize and link "Extra". Same section, fix the link of "Robert Hoffman". In the Image and personal life section, italicize "Forbes". Same section, italicize "Phineas and Ferb". In the Guest appearances chart, fix the "Bette" and "Still Standing".
Half-check, italicize "Disney Channel Circle of Stars" and "Forbes". --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 18:51, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
  2. Is it verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check?
    A. It contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline:
    B. Reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose):
Is there a source for this ---> "During the late 1990s, Tisdale made guest appearances in several television series, which included George Lopez, Smart Guy, 7th Heaven, Grounded for Life, Strong Medicine, Charmed, and Beverly Hills, 90210" and this "She had a minor role in the 2001 film Donnie Darko and made a guest appearance on The Amanda Show. She had recurring roles on the sitcoms, The Hughleys, and Still Standing"? Is there a source for this ---> "As the series became popular, Tisdale became a featured performer on the Disney Channel and received a voice role in Whisper of the Heart, the English-language version of the Japanese animated feature, Mimi wo Sumaseba"? Are there sources available for this ---> "She reprised her role as Sharpay Evans in High School Musical 2 which premiered on August 17, 2007. She also appeared on the soundtrack, performing several songs such as "Fabulous", "You Are The Music In Me" and "What Time Is It?". Tisdale has a supporting role in the Disney Channel series Phineas and Ferb, voicing Candace Flynn. She also voiced Camille Leon on Disney Channel series Kim Possible. Tisdale also received her first award on Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards UK as "Best TV Acress" by her acting on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody"?

    C. It contains no original research:
    D. It contains no copyright violations nor plagiarism:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. It addresses the main aspects of the topic:
    B. It stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style):
  4. Is it neutral?
It represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each:
  5. Is it stable?
It does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute:
  6. Is it illustrated, if possible, by images?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content:
Apparently, images Ashley Tisdale crop.jpg and Ashley tisdale 3.jpg have copyright problems, might want to look at that. Also, Image:BGTM.ogg and Image:HeSaidSheSaid.ogg are missing FUR for this article.
    B. Images are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
If the statements above can be answered, I will pass the article. Good luck with improving this article!

I guess I'll handle this. The "Whisper of the Heart" role was minor, but it's listed in the collection sites [1] [2] The other roles from early career are listed at imdb [3] Is there a debate about any of them? The .ogg files were removed by someone else and I don't see a good reason for them to be here; however, I don't see the "copyright problems" with the two images. Gimmetrow 23:27, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Must be referring to the attempted license revocation. It doesn't really create any problems: the license cannot be revoked, so any attempt to revoke it is void.—Kww(talk) 23:38, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
That's what I was guessing Blue saw, but it's not a "copyright problem". Gimmetrow 00:18, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
No, I was just wondering if there was a source available for those roles she took part in, but those work fine. Yeah, apparently the author of the images, from Flickr, changed the license to them, that's why there's the ---> "This image was originally uploaded to Wikimedia Commons licensed as noted below. The Flickr user has since changed the licensing to be more restrictive" note, I guess that would be a problem if you want to get the article to FAC. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 18:51, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, after reading the article, I have gone off and passed the article. Congratulations. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it to a GA review. Thank you to all who worked hard to bring it to this status. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 19:08, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
