Clarified a few points in the article to make it clear that the applications were never followed through to become granted patents. 68.110.72.98 (talk) 00:22, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is not true. At the time Pedrick was active, patents were not published until grant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.49.71.10 (talk) 13:39, 4 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why is there no link to the actual patents? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.32.119.117 (talk) 21:49, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Catflap patent edit

"The idea was to detect the difference in fur colour between Ginger and another cat, "Blackie" from next door. If Blackie attempted to use the cat-flap, he would not be allowed in. Ginger was impressed with the idea, and further suggested that the concept could be applied as a nuclear deterrent. Ginger's concern over the Cold War and the nuclear arsenals threatening the world was a regular motivator for Pedrick's inventions."

What? His cat was concerned with Nuclear War? -75.111.17.178 (talk) 20:27, 13 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, according to the patent application. GDallimore (Talk) 21:22, 13 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sources edit

Anyone wanting to expand/cite this article might find these useful. There's this in the World Patent Information journal, which I assume is a reliable source. There's also this blog; whilst a blog is not normally reliable, per WP:BLOG it may be, in this case, as the author has been working and publishing in the field for a good while (and been used as an expert by the BBC[1]).
