I checked the dept of chemistry web site at McGill. I could find no such person. The site lists emeritus faculty, also - no luck. Since his book on cooking (if it is the same guy) was published in 1955, it is almost certain that has 'moved on'. (If he was 30 in 1955, then he would be ~90 today). His most recent movie credit is 2013 Honeymoon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.189.77.96 (talk) 09:20, 13 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dr Grosser was born in 1932 according to the copyright notice in my 1981 first edition of The Cookbook Decoder. That would make him 84, and I repeat, the book was published in 1981 not 1955. I had Grosser for Chemistry 120 at McGill in 1984 and around that time saw him in minor rôles in a couple of films. The paperback of his cookbook was recommended reading for the course (I bought it) and three decades later a friend who was also a student of his found a hardcover first edition and mailed it to me. If you want the skinny on Grosser a neighbour who used to work across the hall from him tells me he was the only person she'd ever met in the 80s who'd had a hair transplant. A chemistry prof does not need a full head of hair but maybe an actor does. CharlesKiddell (talk) 13:14, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
