Police officer edit

An arrest warrant is a warrant issued by a public officer which authorizes the arrest and detention of an individual.

Aren't the issued by judges? Ken 01:32, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

A judge, a magistrate, or a justice of the peace, usually (granted the distinction between the offices is a fine one). bd2412 T 01:35, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Public officer and Police officer are not the same thing... Isaac (talk) 23:33, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Support: I agree, merging this article to Arrest warrant is a good idea. Buddha24 (talk) 08:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Support:I support naturally since I proposed it. I don't think the outstanding warrant article as is, is expansive enough to.. well, warrant, it's own article. (Ooh that was a BAD PUN) Paladin656 (talk) 09:00, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Support, a clear and straightforward case for it, as both articles are relatively short. bd2412 T 09:39, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Support: Frankly, it's unclear why the other article was ever created in the first place. Isaac (talk) 23:31, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
