Two Catholicosates

edit

I tried to rewrite the sentence about the two Catholicosates but realized I don't know what "they" refers to, at the end of the sentence. Do the dioceses decide? or the 2 Catholicoi? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 00:04, 23 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Armavir diocese

edit

The Russian-language source for the list of dioceses includes 12, not 11 names. The Diocese of Armavir was left out until I put it in. Is there a reason?

Secondly: where is the seat located? Armavir is a DAB, there are an ancient A., an A. village near it, and a modern A. town some distance away. Also, the special-status diocese of Etchmiadzin might overlap with that of Armavir - a Vatican-in-Rome-style situation?

Pls. clarify. Once done so here, pls. also amend the Armavir DAB page and, if connected to one of the 3 items there (probably both the ancient & the modern city), add the A. Diocese also to that/those articles, at least under "See also" as [brackets]-Arm. Apost. Church-hashtag-Dioceses-[brackets]. Thanks. Arminden (talk) 08:04, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Mistake in the Introduction Section re: St. Thaddeus Jude

edit

The introduction section states: "According to tradition, the church originated in the missions of Apostles Bartholomew and Thaddeus of Edessa in the 1st century." (emphasis added)

This is incorrect. It was not Thaddeus of Edessa, but rather, the Apostle Thaddeus Jude who brought Christianity to Armenia alongside fellow Apostle Bartholomew. Can somebody please review and correct this error? I am new to editing and was afraid to make the edit myself. Aad2024 (talk) 02:33, 18 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
