Talk:Arizona State Route 303

Assessment edit

The RD could do much more to describe the current route, rather than focus entirely on the future of the route. CL — 05:28, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Couple things edit

Couple things:

- Loop 303 does NOT intersect with I-10, although it comes very close. The sign on I-10 says (or used to say, I haven't been there in several years) "Cotton Lane: TO AZ 303" If you look at the official ADOT routelog, you will see the actual route starts at something like .3 miles north of I10. - The article states that 303 was removed from the regional planning, an interim 2 lane road was maintained. This is only true for about half of the route. Nothing from US 60 to I-17 was created until after it was added to the 5 year program. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.138.168.60 (talk) 07:05, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Exit list edit

I converted the exit list to the {{Jctint}} set of templates. Can someone please look over it? -happy5214 12:04, 1 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Update the map edit

The map for this article does not show the route being extended to the Interstate 17 interchange, but the highway itself clearly does. If the map could be updated to show this, it would be greatly appreciated. --TCN7JM 17:06, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sources Needed edit

Portions of the highway are controlled-access highway (Indian School Rd to Camelback Rd, Northern Ave to Bell Rd, and Happy Valley Pkwy/Vistancia Blvd to I-17). Does anyone know where I can find sources for this information? I know it's controlled access because there are grade-seperated interchanges, but I can't find anything online. Go on Google Earth (updated late 2011) and you will see the interchanges Giggett (talk) 17:45, 6 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

I have noticed that photographs are requested for this article. Will these work?

Bell Road Interchange

Clearview Boulevard

I-10 Stack Interchange Construction

I-10 Interchange

Peoria Avenue Interchange (before completion)

Wildlife World Zoo (Northern Avenue)

I found the images on ADOT's 303 Project Slideshow

You would have to add them to Creative Commons first but yes they those are very nice pictures, although I wouldn't recommend adding too many pictures to the article, unless you add them all to a gallery. Giggett (talk) 17:44, 6 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Update edit

It's 2014 already, is this freeway almost completed? Giggett (talk) 17:41, 6 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, at least from I-10 to I-17. They still need to build the stack at I-17 and just finished the stack at I-10. N9jig (talk) 23:12, 10 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Question edit

I seem to recall that Loop-303 was posted on Cotton Lane way back before freeway construction had started (in the 1990's). Can anyone prove this right or wrong?N9jig (talk) 23:12, 10 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Name of the freeway edit

Officially, the name of the freeway is the Bob Stump Memorial Parkway. It was given that name in 2004, and as of now, that is still the name of the highway. Previously, Loop 303 was going to be called the Estrella Freeway, but not anymore. This is not to be confused with the Estrella Parkway, a completely different roadway south of I-10 and two miles to the east of Loop 303. Even though the 2040 MAG Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) refers to Loop 303 as the "Estrella Freeway," that is not a reliable source (it also refers to "SR 93" and "Business Route 60" in Arizona, neither of which exist). Page 3 of the RTP even states, "The contents of this report reflect the views and opinions of the author(s) who is responsible for the facts and accuracy of the data presented herein. MC-85 edit

Should the article have a County Route marker for MC-85? It is my understanding that MC-85 is a road name, not a route designation. Maricopa County has no marked County Roads, they all just have names, including MC-85. N9jig (talk) 03:30, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
