Name

Is there any reason why Manabes first name is listed as Tomoyoshi? In the first two Japanese volumes the furigana say "Akira" (on the Japanese Wikipedia page for Arisa he's called "Akira" as well). 80.171.191.160 (talk) 08:17, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Excessive plot here

Dropping here the excessive plot summaries.

1. Arisa and Tsubasa are going to reunite with each other secretly after being separated 3 years ago. Tsubasa, who acts as the narrator of the story, has trouble making friends. Arisa allows Tsubasa to disguise as her and go to her school. Tsubasa then finds a note in Arisa's school locker stating that "Arisa Sonoda is a traitor". Arisa attempts to commit suicide and is currently in a coma.
2. Tsubasa tries to find the secret of Arisa's private school. So far, everything is friendly and kind. On fourth period, everyone in the class closes the curtains and doors for a preparation known as "King Time."
3. Tsubasa discovers how the King Game works when her class participates. King Time occurs every Friday during Fourth Period. The "King" states that they will grant a student's wish that a crude teacher will disappear. Tsubasa disregards the idea until the teacher actually turns up missing. She then realizes that something sinister is happening within her sister's class.
4. After making a disapproving comment about the King, a student in Arisa's class receives a note accusing her of being a traitor similar to the one Arisa received. The student, a girl named Shiori Nakagawa (中川 詩織, Nakagawa Shiori?), attempts to throw herself out a window when she is stopped by Manabe. Tsubasa accompanies the two to the nurse's office and Manabe states that he hates the King and knows the King's identity. Meanwhile, Takeru discovers something disturbing in Manabe's apartment.
5. Manabe begins to reveal the King's identity when Tsubasa's cell phone rings. It is Takeru warning her about Manabe. Because of Takeru's findings and Manabe's cryptic statements, Tsubasa suspects that he is the King. It is Friday again, and King Time commences once again during fourth period. This time, the Athletics Festival is wished to be canceled. The King informs the class that someone will have to get hurt in order for this to happen. Tsubasa remains confident that nothing will happen, but the class says that, should the victim be a member of the class, they will be happy to sacrifice their well-being for the ways of the King. Events at the Festival practice lead Tsubasa to think that the King isn't Manabe after all, especially after he accuses Tsubasa--who is posing as Arisa--of being the King.
6. Manabe tells Tsubasa about her secret and a story of what happened a year ago, and walks away after saying that he will prove Arisa is the King. Tsubasa doesn't believe the story, and goes home. She starts going through Arisa's books and drawers and finds a folder without a name on Arisa's laptop. Tsubasa opens it and finds all the information about the granted wishes from the students in class. Tsubasa is astonished and is also determined to find out who has been acting as the King while Arisa is in a coma. Another King's Game occurs on Friday during 4th period and another wish is going to be granted. This time, the wish is for the real Arisa Sonoda to return to them. Tsubasa quickly runs to the hospital room and finds roses on the bed with Arisa gone.
7. Tsubasa and Takeru restlessly search for Arisa but do not find her. When they return to the hospital room they find Arisa still in a coma covered in flowers. But there is a message from the King saying that the king knows who Tsubasa is and if she snoops anymore the king will destroy what she loves most. Tsubasa still goes to school as Arisa. And while in cooking class is given apple cookies from Mariko, while Mariko is grinning evily. Later on Tsubasa feels sluggish and doesn't know why. She goes to get her shoes from Arisa's shoe locker and finds a note from the king wanting to meet her by the school pool. Tsubasa goes and is pushed in the water by the king but for some reason she can't move and starts drowning. Mean while Manabe sees bubbles floating to the top of the pool, and noticing someone is drowning goes in to save her. When he resurfaces he calls out class pres. but is stopped when the he sees Tsubasa's wig slipping off with her unconscious.
8. Tsubasa wakes up at the side of the school pool, and after noticing Manabe nearby remembers a person pushing her into the pool. She asks Manabe if he saw anyone else, as she is talking she turns towards to pool and looks over. The brown wig she used to disguise herself before was gone, she realizes that Manabe must know now that she is not Arisa .Tsubasa panics as Manabe asks who she is. She claims "I dyed my hair blonde!" Manabe explains that he thought something was weird and names off all the ways Arisa has been acting differently lately. He accuses Tsubasa of being involved with "King", Tsubasa tries to explain but decides to take him to the hospital Arisa is at. Once there, Tsubasa explains everything to Manabe. Tsubasa tells him that Arisa is not currently acting as "King", that someone else took over. Manabe remembers months ago when someone had gotten hurt because of the King, and he had blamed it on Arisa who was crying and apologizing.Tsubasa tries to explain to him that Arisa is not King anymore, but he tells her to get away from him and walks away. The next day at school, while getting her shoes on, Mariko appears before Tsubasa with an evil look on her face. However, this soon is replaced by a smile. Mariko tries to persuade Tsubasa from hanging out with Manabe because he is defiant to the king. Tsubasa simply says "what's wrong with that?" and walks away. Mariko stays still, a dark look clouding over her face and says "you are becoming a bad girl again." Later during King time, everyone is shocked to find that the "King's" website has been closed to the public. However they all soon get a message saying that 5 people whose passwords are chosen will be able to enter a new King's Room and get wishes granted. Everyone waits while they get their passwords. Tsubasa realizes that if she can't participate in King Time then she can't save her sister. Mariko comes over, telling Tsubasa to give her her password, because its useless to Tsubasa since she doesn't participate in King Time. Tsubasa refuses to give up her password and everyone gives her evil looks. The students attack her, but she is saved by Arisa's boyfriend. She exclaims that Arisa cared deeply about her classmates so how can such a thing be happening. Another student pushes her back and right when a bunch of books fall on her, Manabe protects Tsubasa. He gets hurt so Tsubasa hurries him to the nurse's office. After treating him, Manabe gives Tsubasa his password - 8001.

Issues

• "on a case-by-case basis" This remains unclear, even after I checked the source. As far as I know, Del Rey's localization was just eventually replaced by Kodansha. Some clarification about this in the lead and in the article is necessary.
• "Additionally, she created "Tsubasa", a bonus chapter focusing on..." After this point, the sentence becomes pretty awkward.
• "wrote the Midori's backstory" Pretty sure something is wrong here.
• WP:CAPs ref titles
• Mania is down
• Kodansha links are down
• RandomHouse is now PenguinRandomHouse
• "she then reached out to her twin, hoping that she would be able to uncover the truth." Second she clarity
• "as he could not get revenge on his own mother and believed that Arisa hated hers" Confusing on why Arisa's hatred makes is a plus to his reasons to make the mother a target.

• Clarity check. Is this the character's motivation? It's what I got from the sentence. "I hate my mom, she's dead but you hate yours so I'll kill her instead"

• absence of a "love interest", why is love interest bracketed?
• "Tsubasa resolves to stop the King and find out the person's identity to save Arisa, as he or she may be the reason for her suicide attempt." Awkward
• "chin-length and shoulder-length hair" Clarity. I'm pretty sure this is the common multiple models, and not a single model with both those length of hairstyles.

• Aside from this, whose observations is used for the sentence backed up by reference 1? This may be considered O.R, since an observation stated as fact is used in the second sentence, "Midori and Takeru, Tsubasa's friend, were visually unchanged from the early art.".

Suggestions

• "Set in present-day Japan, it focuses on teenager Tsubasa Uehara, as she investigates the mystery surrounding her twin sister's failed suicide attempt that left her comatose." Clarity can be further improved, though the reader can deduce the second her refers to the sister.
• The Original run in the infobox usually uses dates. I don't have a problem with the magazine issues though.
• Synthesis the manga weekly rankings. It can be summed up saying volumes 2, 5, and 6 appeared on NYT's list instead of sharing their week long appearance (Probably the week of their release) and their rankings which aren't noteworthy.
• Bracket image source so it says 7netshopping.jp
• Picture is already 230, don't need size restriction.

Hi again! Thank you for taking the time to review. I think I've addressed the issues raised. I would like to hear more about those strange sentences you found, so I can fix them! :) I'm also not sure what you mean by synthesizing weekly rankings. Could you link to an example, please? For issue #10, love interest is in quotes because it is a direct quote. I couldn't think of way to paraphrase it. Any suggestions? For issue #11.2, I will doublecheck that for you. Rapunzel-bellflower (talk) 17:34, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

I crossed off the love interest thing for now, but love interest is a common literary term so it can probably do without them. Another word that might need to be looked at is "strong contrast". DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 01:49, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
