Mess

This article is a mess. At least parts of it have been automatically translated leaving some nonsense and a few Spanish words. Any Samaritan soul willing to fix this? I promise to wikify it afterwards! -Mariano 11:47, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

a big writer: journalist Julio Carreras (h) sounds POV to me...who is this guy? Is he better than Rodolfo Walsh? Ejrrjs | What? 01:34, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

I also have no idea about this Julio Carreras, but he has a high google relevant hit rate in different languages. We could consider removing it from the article, as well as Ernesto Guevara (let's face it, he's not important to the Argentine literature as a writer). Mariano(t/c) 09:45, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Writer: It happens that it is not from Buenos Aires. They - those of Buenos Aires - believe that everything Argentine must go out hence. Neither they consider Juan L to be " important writers " to Juan L. Ortiz, Luis Franco, Juan B. Zalazar, etc. ... his world ends in the limits of Buenos Aires....

New Humanism

There's a link on this page that read neohumanism but actually goes to the New Humanism page. The New Humanism page doesn't seem to have anything to do with Argentine literature. Also, if it's really neohumanism you're talking about, just link there. The neohumanism page doesn't seem to have anything to do with Argentine literature either. New humanism and neohumanism are synonyms. I think the article is trying to say that Neohumanism, probably because of the strong European influence the Argentine literature always suffered, finally arrived to Argentina in 1950, and it can be seen in the work of the cited authors.
Now, I'm not sure I understad what you are trying to say: That this is not true; that the Argentine Neohumanism had nothing to do with Babbitt's one; or that neohumanism has nothing to do with literature at all?
Thanks for your patience. Mariano(t/c) 05:54, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
I think maybe it's I that doesn't understand. The Babbitt New Humanism page does say his ideas are called New Humanism or Newhumanism. If that's the same current of thought you're talking about, then I'd recommend making some referent to Argentine Literature on the New Humanism page so it's all clear.
We've done some work on that New Humanism page, creating a disambiguation page for it because there are so many different New Humanisms. It sounds like Argentine literature doesn't need to appear on the disambiguation page. Is that right, as you see it?
As for New Humanism and Neohumanism being synonyms, I'm sure that's true in some contexts. There is a New-humanism page, however, that doesn't seem to be about Babbitt or Argentine literature. Maybe there needs to be a disambiguation page for Neo-humanism? Tedernst 15:30, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
I think I see your point now. Sadly, I'm completely ignorant at Literature, New, Old and Neo Humanism. Perhaps it would be wiser to remove the link form the Argentine literature article, but I'm not sure what to do with the disamb page. Mariano(t/c) 16:04, 6 October 2005 (UTC)

Comics

Nothing about comics in Agrentine ? There are some really good argentine comic books and comic book authors, with good pages, here in Wikipedia: Francisco Solano López (comic book artist), Mafalda, Hector German Oesterheld, José Antonio Muñoz, ... Is there somebody willing to start an article on that subjet, at least a stub, like Argentine comics. I don't know enough to do it my self :-( Lvr 13:37, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

That's a very good idea. If you whish to start it, here you will find a lot of information in English, and if you know some Spanish, then this detailed page is the place to look at. Mariano(t/c) 08:26, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

This article is still a mess

And judging from Mariano's comment above, it's been that way for almost two years. --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 07:49, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

well, it does look a lot better than 2 years ago (check the history) But it still need a good clean up, and probably a couple more sections on other kinds of literature. Be my guest! --Mariano(t/c) 12:23, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I just checked this history and... wow! It's actually amazing how little these articles actually change! I'll try to do something at some point. --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 12:42, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm Argentine and I've been checking the sections at the begining of the article and I have added some information, but it would be good if someone could add references of english-written sources, 'cause all the references I can add are written in spanish. Luke in Spanish (09/11/2008)

Confused sentence about Güiraldes

Something wrong here!:

“Ricardo Güiraldes, however, remains classical in style, giving a whole new freshness to gauchesca poetry and writing what is perhaps the novel, Don Segundo Sombra.”
