Status paragraph contains clear inaccuracies

The section called "Status" is not consistent with the status listing at the top, and it is not consistent with the quoted source. The status is listed at the top as "Near Threatened", and this can be confirmed by checking the Red List, .

The section on status, however, says that "Argali are considered an endangered or threatened species throughout their entire range...", which is not consistent with the Red List. It is also not consistent with the source quoted in the section, because if you check the quoted source, , it has a section called "Conservation Status", which says that "The IUCN classifies the entire species O. ammon as vulnerable." An interesting thing to say since right below the paragraph they link to the Red List and say "Near Threatened." Perhaps the classification has improved since the article was written.

Unless some other source can be quoted to back up the statement that the Argali are endangered or threatened, I think the the paragraph should be changed to reflect the true status. The animal has suffered range reduction, but is clearly not considered "Endangered" or "Threatened" by the best authority currently quoted in the article. Range

On a website, it says that there is a subspecies of argali that is endemic to Corsica. Are you sure they only live in Asia? --Scottishwildcat12 (talk) 08:21, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

August 2019: Donald Trump Jr. Shot one ... is this noteworthy?

In August 2019, Donald Trump Jr.'s during a hunting trip to Mongolia he shot and killed an argali. The sheep is listed as endangered and which requires a permit to be hunted legally.Trump Jr. was not offered a permit for shooting the animal until after he left the region, according to ProPublica, raising questions about whether he received special treatment.
