Talk:Area code 830

Latest comment: 2 years ago by Yorbalindasmile in topic "Suburbs"

1997 doesn't sound right for the 830 area code starting. Had 830 area code numbers (830-537, 830-459 and 830-324) in the 1995-1996 period. I'll check with one of the local telephone companies in that area to get a straight story on this, and post back to talk with an update, or just edit the article with a more appropriate date. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:101E:401D:3901:43F7:1CD4:496B (talk) 03:39, 5 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Suburbs" edit

I would dispute the claim in the opening sentence that 830 serves "most of San Antonio's suburbs." As one can see here, most all of the localities and exurban growth that one would usually consider suburban to San Antonio remain within the 210/726 zone. It's true that there is quite a bit of recent development with a suburban character in the Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch, and Bulverde areas, but that is not "the entire suburban ring around San Antonio"--which would also include almost all of the unincorporated Bexar County suburban areas, as well as Helotes, Cibolo, Schertz, Converse, Universal City, etc. (Further, because of the nature of Sun Belt cities, much of what would be considered "suburban" in many metropolitan areas lies within the SA city limits--but even by a more stringent definition, I believe my point stands.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yorbalindasmile (talkcontribs) 18:56, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
