562 Area Code Split. If an area code of the Greater Los Angeles area had to be split it should be 562. Tell me if you agree with me. It should be a North/South split. The southern cities Lakewood, Signal Hill, Seal Beach, Artesia, Hawaain Garderns, Most of Long Beach and part of Cerritos would keep 562. The northern cities Whittier, Norwalk, Downey, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, Bellflower, Paramount, La Mirada, and La Habra Heights would get a new area code. The NPA boundary would be the 91 freeway, Southern Bellflower City Limits, and Northern Artesia city limits making all of Artesia, but none of Bellflower keep 562. If you have suggestions about a better place to split the area code reply.
