Current Club

Semi-protected edit request on 6 July 2015

"The contract will run for five seasons, but Arda Turan will only be able to play for the Catalans until January 2016, after the transfer ban has been lifted."

Info box - club years

I changed Turan's info box in regards to his club years, and it has been changed back. It currently reads "2015-" by Barcelona. It should read "2016-" because, while he has a contract with them as an employee, 'he is not a registered player' for Barcelona, and will not be until 2016. He is not eligible to represent the club in any FIFA-sanctioned competition, which is what the info box documents (even more specifically, domestic league play). I do not want to get into an edit war, so I am not changing it again until we get some more input. Thoughts? Slow Graffiti (talk) 21:06, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

@Slow Graffiti: you are right they are banned from registered any players until 2016 so 2016 is the correct one Adnan (talk) 23:20, 7 July 2015 (UTC).

The right is 2015, because he signed in 2015. The question to be registered in 2016 does not change the fact that he was player since 2015. PhilStar01 (talk) 8 July 2015 (UTC).

He is not a player until 2016, which is my point of contention. You are not a player until you register. He is not a player for Barcelona yet, being ineligible to play in 2015 for FC Barcelona.
