Currently, over 80% of this article is dedicated to its status as a gay cruising icon. Interesting as this aspect is, surely there's more to the "finest public fountain in Australia" than this? • I agree there is still far too much infomation regarding the fountain as a gay icon. Surely most of this material could be put into a seperate article about the gay scene in Sydney. The only problem is I don't think there is such an article at present. Nomadtales 21:18, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

No idea who inserted the gay material. I've always assumed it was referring to the 1960s or 70s. Yes, there is way too much of it. --Gene_poole 03:34, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
