Controversy at Archerfield edit

There could be more information about how the Archerfield Airport Corporation has openly admitted they plan on subdividing the land that archerfield is on so that it can be leased or sold for more profit than the airfield can currently make. The corporation has also been known to raise rent prices so high for some companies that it is no longer financially viable to stay there. Landing fees have also steadily increased. --Spuzzdawg 07:28, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Archerrunway.jpg edit

Image:Archerrunway.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Update needed edit

Now that the airport is class D, certain procedures have changed. e.g. taxi calls are now required. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.186.73.103 (talk) 23:14, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

8th fighter group edit

archerfield aeorodrome was thr first location/camp of the 8th fighter group headquarters squadron when it arrived in Australia. from there to antill plains northern qweensland then to milne bay papua .

the 419th signal company occupied the radio station in the woods where the radio mast is shown in some pictures. the 419th was the Brisbane station for the 5th air force communicating to new guinea both with radio and experimental radio teletype. an example of the experimental radio teletype is in the Australian military museum.

General aviation procedures section edit

I’d like to propose that the general aviation procedures section be removed. In my opinion the information within has little to no relevance to the general public and is only relevant to pilots who fly at Archerfield. Oliverok (talk) 08:51, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree with you about its relevance to readers. Plus it is uncited and may or may not be up-to-date. I think we want pilots thinking of using this airprot to get their information about this airport from reliable aviation sources for obvious safety reasons. I have removed the section.
