@Schwede66: Hi, here is an early draft. I think I need a break from this now but would really appreciate your review and feedback :). Please confirm that I have taken the right approach with the name of the article. I haven't included anything about Arch Jelley's wife. Not sure whether personal relationships should be covered but there is some mention of his wife in references. Looking forward to your feedback. Marshelec (talk) 06:02, 3 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Good stuff! As you will have seen, I've made many small edits so that each one explains what I was doing. This is a solid article and can now be published. I'd publish it sooner rather than later as I've seen it before that different editors had the same person in draft space and it gets a bit fiddly to merge things once another article gets published first. Thoughts on further potential work (which might as well happen in mainspace):
Yes, Arch Jelly is the WP:COMMON NAME and should thus be the article name.
I suggest you publish to "Albert Archibald Jelley", then move to "Archibald Jelley", and then move to "Arch Jelley". That way, you've got all the redirects in place that should be there.
Information on family does belong into a bio if that content is in the public domain. From the RNZ source that I've just added: "Despite retiring from athletics coaching in 2000, following the death of his first wife, ...", "his then wife Rachel" and "his second wife Jean". So his wifes' names are known.
Given that he is notable for his activities in Bridge, you should add that his first wife encouraged him to join a club and that he is teaching together with his second wife.
And once it's ready, I'd encourage you to nominate this for WP:DYK. Schwede66 21:46, 3 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
