What's wrong with simply:

It's an elementary algebraic simplification, though most Economics sources I've looked at insist on using the convoluted definition and not showing how it can be siplified...
I don't see how that simplification helps. It uses the and symbols instead of writing out the arithmetic, but the sigma could easily be misleading, and the delta it a notation thing which doesn't really simplify. Otherwise it seems to obscure what's really going on rather than clarify. CRETOG8(t/c) 13:48, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
