- If you read the article of Catalina de Erauso it is written "She served in Chile in the wars with the Araucano Indians.", the spanish version also says that and in this site it is also said. Dentren | Talk 00:08, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

New article needed for Chilean relations/wars with Aruaco edit
I think that the relations between Chile and Arauco should have their own article dating from the independance of Chile and only leave a short postscipt in this article refering to the highlights of the new article so formed. Asiaticus (talk) 21:30, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Spelling edit
The article spells "Mapuches" several different ways in the same article. Perhaps there is no one official spelling, but you would think we would be consistent in the same article. The same goes for other proper nouns like Quillin and Lautaro. Art LaPella (talk) 04:11, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
KIngdom of Chile edit
On the belligerents table, when the sides participating are written it says "kingdom of Chile" Kingdom of Chile? Where does that name come from? It was a capitania general, a way for the spanish to name some of its colonies, not an independant kingdom. It only served (officialy) the king of Spain. Can someone edit that to correction please?

Hello 190.43.38.134. The battle of La Albarrada was not decisive, there are no sources that indicate such a thing. The Parliament of Quillín, while setting a precedent, was not decisive. The subject of vassalage must be analyzed carefully, since this point was very variable in time. Furthermore, the Mapuche did not capitulate in this parliament as indicated in that document that you cite. Spanish officials used this formula in the document to minimize their position in the agreement, since it was the Spanish who asked to negotiate. Read page 73 of the source you provided.
