Talk:Arakawa grids

Latest comment: 1 year ago by Briochemc in topic Revert image change?

The first figure of the "Arakawa grids" article depicting the different types of grids contains an error. On the C-grid the u-component of velocity should be evaluated at the left/right side of the grid and not at the top/bottom as it is depicted. And vice-versa for the v-component. Same goes for the D-grid schematic in the figure. The u-component should be evaluated at the top/bottoms side of the grid and the v-component at the left/right side and not the other way around as it is depicted.

Revert image change? edit

It seems the original image had the correct locations for the u/v components. Why not revert the image instead of adding corrections in the text? Briochemc (talk) 02:09, 31 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
