Proposed merger with 'Aquaporins' article edit
As far as I can tell, these articles are about the same group of proteins found in the cell membrane. They both contain different information on the same tyopic, and so i suggest that they should be merged. -Snellios 22:26, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

- No, Answers.com displays information from wikipedia, it even says near the top of the page "Home > Library > Reference > Wikipedia" Murdochious 17:21, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Somebody has been replacing the original texts by related articles. This makes the information that appears to the reader unrelated to the topic and weird, but true, and makes very difficult to detect vandalism.
The IP of the vandal is 72.73.52.114 and if you check his history, he has destroyed also other pages. I don't know how to block his IP. If somebody knows, would be good to do it.

PyMOL image is an 'incorrect' portrayal edit
The PyMOL image is 'upside down.' It is kind of arbitrary if you are knowledgeable regarding the tetramer organization in the membrane, otherwise it may be misleading. Usually when portraying proteins in a side view, the 'top' should signify the extracellular space and the 'bottom' the cytoplasmic/intracellular space. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.149.162.144 (talk) 12:17, 10 April 2007 (UTC).
NPA motif and proton blockage edit
I updated the section on the NPA motif which was outdated and which reflected only the view of a part of the aquaporin community. In particular, the interpretation that the "bipolar" water orientation causes proton blockage is now expressed as one of several opinions. In fact, there are several studies published (I know of four) which highly question this early interpretation. In addition I added the reference to the first paper which reported the rotation of water molecules. --Hanuta3001 (talk) 15:34, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Should add a section about water purification systems that incorporate aquaporins Aquaporin company: http://www.aquaporin.dk/ (say by 2013 they will commercially available)

Who's Solomon? edit
The History section has a sentence, that starts "Solomon and his co-workers performed pioneering work", but there's no previous mention of Solomon. There are a couple of footnotes to AK Solomon, but I think Solomon needs more introduction in the body. ChrisHibbert (talk) 18:12, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
