I thought the headquarters were at Hancock, MI. Do you have verification?

Northern Sweden too

edit

Besides from Northern Norway and Finland, the immigrants establishing the church also came from Northern Sweden. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.226.46.89 (talk) 15:23, 1 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Norway?

edit

Is that correct about the Finns coming from northern Norway? 68.41.174.194 20:04, 19 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re-stating info to make clearer and revising controversial unsourced info

edit

Tried to make sense of this and also linking to Laestadianism. 'Need to distinguish ALC, e.g., from other mainstream "Lutheranism" of which ALC was NEVER a part, except to the extent of its parishioners' mandatory memberships in the state Lutheran churches in the old countries.

The author of the section I've revised, appears to be alleging, without citing any sources of any kind, a rather controversial history for this one of the smaller Laestadian denominations by asserting AFAICT that the ALC developed in the EARLY 1800s WT...? SEPARATELY from the Laestadian movement.  ???

EVEN IF this branch WERE originally founded by non-Laestadians, it is clearly Laestadian in character today and has been for the last 100 or more years AND needs to be clearly identified as such up front. If that is not acceptable, 'need to find some sources to support this controversial view or delete the info altogether. I would be willing to back off this position/objection IF another author can explain clearly WHAT GROUP these original, allegedly non-Laestadian members comprised, where they came from, and how they supposedly hooked up with the Laestadians whose doctrine came to dominate the church.
