Issues:

  • Images and stability look good.
  • This article seems to assume a basic knowledge of Christian history. Canonicity is "determined"? Pretty brief way to deal with the subject--not even a wikilink to another article?
  • Since Qumran was likely abandoned before Jesus of Nazareth lived, why spend a large section dealing with the Essenes? Everything else but this has a clear reference in the New Testament.
  • Overall, there aren't as many references as a typical good article. There tends to be about one per paragraph, but often there are multiple assertions per paragraph that should be referenced.
  • The article will be improved by making a clear distinction between what's covered in the New Testament and what scholarship has to say about it.
  • Summary style usage is good. Expand it even more.

Overall, it's got potential, but there's a long way to go to get to GA. I know this was a premature nomination, but I hope this outline gives you a good roadmap of how to get to GA. User:Jclemens 02:11, 6 October 2008 .
