Notability

Since somebody tried to speedy this, apparently the notability isn't obvious. The fellow's a TV evangelist who is carried nationally in the Phillipines and internationally via satellite. The Google test is best applied to first-world topics that appeal to the Internet set. For more info on the fellow, search his local paper and you'll find a number of articles. For what it's worth, I've visited the Philippines the last several summers, and the guy is definitely a household name there. He is very notable from a Filipino perspective. CaliforniaKid 07:28, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Not worth anything by way of verification. But perhaps should make the bio's supporters hopeful of finding verification.

In terms of notability, he IS indeed quite notable and a household name along with Eddie Villanueva and Mike Velarde. All of them are televangelists and famous for staging prayer rallies which draw in thousands of people (they once bought airtime from the two main Philippine national TV stations as well - GMA 7 and ABS CBN, which means they have a nationwide reputation). They have enough adherents that even Philippine presidential candidates court them for votes ( http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/insights/05/11/10/religious-blocs-fail-deliver ). They are also notorious for making wild predictions on the coming apocalpyse as well as messianic claims. If people like Ted Haggard can get their own wikipedia articles, why not him? Just because you haven't heard of him, doesn't mean he is not notable. Seriously, ask any filipino. A controversy section?

Should there be a controversy section? Perhaps such a section would be better placed in a new article on his church, the Kingdom of Jesus..., where there could be a section on beliefs and controversies. The Pastor is a VERY controversial figure and one of the most prominent religious figures in the country. That controversy will drive traffic to Wikipedia. People will come here looking for information about him and why he and his church is controversial. That controversy though would be better placed in an article on the Kingdom of Jesus... with only a reference from this page, say as a sub-section entitled "Beliefs and Controversy" where it could say "See the main article". FBI Most Wanted list

Is there a reason why the only time it’s mentioned that he’s currently on the F.B.I.’s Most Wanted list is in the section about a YouTuber helping bring the matter to light? It's a bit confusing. While Quiboloy's name appears in the "Most Wanted" section of the FBI website (under the Fugitives submenu along with 378 other criminals), on Wikipedia the "most wanted" moniker is usually reserved for the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Since this is a BLP, we do have to err on the side of caution especially with unresolved criminal charges. PritongKandule-✉️📝 08:29, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Arrest

It should be time for some major edits as he gets arrested this week. time to debunk this whole divinity claim since it was an obvious scheme to get rich quick and get a lot of underage girls in his "divine" bedroom? The Senate hearings has definitely put him in the limelight and it is expected that more sources will be available covering him. Although we should keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a place to WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS, we are not here to play armchair psychologists (that would be original research) or do an expose on him ourselves (although we can only repeat what published reliable sources already has mentioned). Although information about his supposed divinity claims and how he fits in the theology of his church would be helpful.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 10:40, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
