Fair use rationale for Image:Derby Logo.png edit

Image:Derby Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Benchmarks edit

I don't think the Derby project has ever submitted any benchmark results... In the computer industry, the results submitted by other competing products are usually not reliable, as the result may be showing a tuned version against an untuned configuration. So I don't think we should include anything here. -- Raysonho (talk) 22:01, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Maybe the benchmark is not fair, but we let IBM post its own benchmarks for comparison. Anyway H2 SQL conformance and compatibility is superior and that is something you can watch yourself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.127.204.10 (talk) 09:30, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
This is not how the industry is run. We need industrial standard benchmarks, like a SPEC mark.
For databases, the industrial standard benchmark is TPC. Unfortunately, for open source software, it's prohibitively expensive to submit official benchmark results. Also, the TPC benchmarks are not really meant for embedded databases. Still, the H2 benchmarks are based on the TPC benchmarks. The source code is included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThomasMueller (talkcontribs) 12:03, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
For what it's worth, you have a distinct conflict of interest as well. I'd prefer someone who is not directly involved with a competing product to provide results. 216.53.205.3 (talk) 01:54, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Embedded DB page edit

Is there some reason why Derby isn't mentioned on the "Embedded Databases" page? Dfmclean (talk) 18:25, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
