This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because Apache Beam[1] is already a quite mature project[2], that comes from the collaboration of multiple companies and individuals, even if it has only released one open source version (next release is happening this week). It has already been presented in most of the most important conferences for big data both in academy[3] and the industry[4].

I excuse myself if I created this almost alpha version of the article I know it lacks some work, e.g. solid citations, but I intended to work on it in the following hours/days. I just pushed it to check a first version that allowed me to improve upon.

Please consider my request, and be kind to let me know your decision.

This page should not be speedily deleted because Apache Beam is an influential project:

- Apache Beam is a project that is the result of an academic peer reviewed paper "The Dataflow Model".
- Apache Beam is a collaboration of commiters to Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache Flink, Apache Gearpump (incubating), Apache Apex, and other contributors.
- Apache Beam is the subject of past and future public talks at Strata Hadoop World, ApacheCon, @Scale. Talks have even been given also by people with no relation to the project!

It is undeniably of major public importance in the space of large-scale data processing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2620:0:1009:15:89C:2ED7:9F35:5863 (talk) 22:28, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
