date of FMO Ap Chau Primary School

edit

Hello,

I have been trying to verify the exact date that the only Primary school "FMO Ap Chau Primary School" was opened.

The book "The Last Half Century of Chinese Overseas" says that it opened on 1958, this is the current info in the article. However:

The Book "Story Of Robinson Island", p.17, says that the school is established in 1953.

This News article about the opening of Ap Chau Story Room says it is "built in 1953".

This journal from the True Jesus Church (in Chinese) says that the school is founded in 1953 in the church hall "1953年,也就是教會成立的隔年,就設立了鴨洲漁民子弟學校".

This article from Rural Common says that the school is founded in 1953 in the church hall, but "This school was later replaced with a new building in 1956".

The Hong Kong Government's website also says that the school is founded in 1953 and subsquently had a new building in 1956.

This Photo of the school's students supplied by HK01 confirms that the school existed in 1953, with the background reading 真耶穌教會 (True Jesus Church).

Therefore I think it is safe to say that the date from "The Last Half Century of Chinese Overseas" is probably mistaken. Any thoughts? Justinl21 (talk) 09:27, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
