Largest offshore island edit

Even though this is a direct quote from the referenced source (No. 2), in the first paragraph the statement "...Great Barrier Island, which is the largest offshore island of New Zealand..." is confusing since it suggests that GBI is larger than Stewart Island - after all, even WP's New Zealand page says "[NZ] consists of two main landmasses —the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui) and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and more than 700 smaller islands". I recommend changing this to "...Great Barrier Island, a large island which is approximately 90 km from downtown Auckland." since ultimately its relative size is not particularly important and to keep this detail would require the addition of a comment as to the islands which comprise "New Zealand proper" which would be awkward and irrelevant here.

If someone who's familiar with this page could look into this, that would be much appreciated. Constantine Opal (talk) 16:09, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
