He was 50 years old but born in either 1958 or 1959, apparently (depending... on who you read.) So died before, or after, his birthday (which was... when?) 1958-2009 seems more likely, unless his birth was early in 1959. Schissel | Sound the Note! 05:03, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I haven't been able to find a citation for his birthday. I'm not very familiar with him at all, though; I wrote this as a quickie stub, based solely on his NYT obit, after seeing that as a related link on a more recent article about the closure of the Oscar Wilde Bookshop (because all gay news is related, apparently! :-) and being surprised that he didn't already have something on here. 1958 is certainly more likely, given that an age of 50 at death gives him a range of possible birthdates that spans 29 days in 1959 and 336 days in 1958, but I should probably change the birthdate from "1958" to "c. 1958" for the time being anyway.
