Outdated link

2002 August 27 Unfortunately, I had to remove the outdated link to the map at Xerox Parc:

Comments on proposed merge

Anyone else agree with user RHaworth's suggestion to merge the Graham's Dyke article into this one ? I do. GeraldH 13:26, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it is part of the history of the Antonine Wall Vignaux 21:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Agree. Should be merged.

"in some contexts"

"The Romans called the land north of the wall Caledonia, though in some contexts the term may mean the area north of Hadrian's Wall." The insertion of the generic-self-protective phrase "in some contexts" turns this thought into babble. Can someone clean it up? --Wetman 16:50, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

I would assume they mean the border of what the Romans concidered Caledonia had moved. Countries re-align their borders all the time. To say that the two borders were interchangable would be like a future historian saying "In some contexts, the term 'Louisiana' may mean the area west of the Mississippi River." The term remained the same, but the borders changed. - Kevingarcia 18:56, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

"Grim is presumed to be a byname for Odin or Wode, who might..."

I think that in this case Wode could also refer to Woad, a plant used in the production of the blue war-paint of the picts, which was also famed for it's healing ability and etymologically could be known as Odin's Flower, or some derivative. I will research the matter further. MarcusAntoninus 17:05, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Different construction times

The text says that the construction began in 138 and was completed in 142, but the text in the image says the construction began in 142. ParasiteNetwork (talk) 12:54, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Well spotted. The references I have to hand say 142, and I've changed the text to match the image. Ben MacDui 13:14, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

The article also variously states that it took 12 years or 2 years to complete. Can someone pin this down one way or the other? 68.73.80.211 (talk) 22:12, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Fixed. Ben MacDui 19:02, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Bar or Barr

The map shows Bar Hill, and the first dot point under "Historic Scotland" is Bar Hill fort - but the captions of the two photograps (below the map) refer to Barr Hill. Can the name be made consistent?121.44.226.75 (talk) 07:26, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Fred

Era style

Please keep the neutral era tag "BCE" and "CE". I would prefer it in this form. Lupus Bellator (talk) 18:16, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Per WP:ERA, either the BC/AD or BCE/CE conventions are appropriate, and should not be changed without some pressing reason to do so. The BC/AD convention has been used at this article since it was created in 2002, so it certainly shouldn't be changed.Cúchullain t/c 18:31, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Agree with Cúchullain. Cynwolfe (talk) 22:27, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Someone apparently misread the above. To restate, per WP:ERA, this edit established the page's usage as BC/AD and that should kindly be maintained pending a new consensus. Lupus's personal preference did not create such a consensus: Cuch & Cyn are in favor of maintaining the existing style and I prefer it in the less precious AD format. — LlywelynII 12:48, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Way link points to Antonine Wall

How do I fix this problem? Bigyabbie (talk) 18:59, 19 October 2015 (UTC)
