Weird euphemisms in lead section

edit

The lead section says "Levandowski was party to private arbitration concerning a contract dispute starting in 2017[9] and then several legal proceedings, the latest resulting in a sentence to prison." I don't think I've ever seen such a weird indirect way of saying that he was accused of trade secret theft and pled guilty and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Aside from the most tortured use of the passive voice, it feels like it hides the real impact of what happened. I'll make the change after waiting for comments here. Update I realized that this was a recent change, pretty out of band compared to the history of the page. I restored an edited version of the old language for now. We can discuss here. Chris vLS (talk) 21:43, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I came to add the detail about the pardon and then noticed other issues. My intent was to summarize the existing detail in the introduction which is/was redundant and out of place since there is an entire section devoted to it. I am not a writer but feel free to implement that idea (or not!) in an active voice. Also, I think I had noticed someone had added some out of place reference to various events involving the 45th president and so was also striving for a more neutral, objective, and less contentious tone. My apologies for interrupting and apparently defacing the good work of wiki experts. I will not contribute further to this page. Jgurtz (talk) 22:43, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
