This whole article is simply a cut/paste from the equivalent entry in DNB. Perhaps not quite in the spirit of Wikipedia. If this is all that is required to create an article why not just copy/paste the whole of DNB, or any other websource. Jodosma(talk)08:57, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
At one time it was common to expand WP by using out of copyright articles from the DNB and EB, especially for subjects from the 19th century and earlier. I agree that these frequently do not fit WP's guidelines, being tediously worded, out of date and opinionated - not to mention inaccurate at times. In the case of Anthony Alsop, scholarship has now moved on and it was high time to update the article in the light of this. Mzilikazi1939 (talk) 12:02, 2 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
