I tagged the article with {{advert}} because it seems highly promotional to me. It was either that or {{peacock}}, and I wasn't sure which one was more applicable. I'll try to remember to work on the article later, but I really don't want to spend hours trying to clean up this mess. In particular, the promotional "this is the best film ever made!" kind of stuff really needs to go. The huge list of festivals also is not encyclopedic, as we generally don't track excessive release information like this for films. The awards look like they're basically copied from the IMDb, which is not all discriminating at all in what they list. I'll try remember to find decent citations for the awards, if such exist. The IMDB is not good enough, as that's user-generated and thus not a reliable source. I also made some copy edits for tone and MOS compliance; in particular, we don't call the United States "USA". Hello there, based on my review, I could not find "this is the best film ever made!" statement on this page. Also it looks like the references listed are from the film festival websites and not IMDB. I compared IMDB with the list of festivals from the page but could not figure out similarities. Since the content is limited, I was unable to see any content that seems to have any promotional tone. I have updated United Stated to USA. Based on these findings I am deleting the tags from the page. If u have any suggestions, recommendations on how to improve this page, please guide me so I can contribute towards making wikipedia a better experience. Please do not remove cleanup tags without resolving the issue. Primary sources are still used extensively in the article. The tone has not been improved, and it is still highly promotional. And, none of the unreliable sources have been replaced. You seem to be associated with this film in some way; please see WP:COI. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 14:39, 21 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
"High critical acclaim" is subjective. How many of these awards are from notable award groups? There are lots of rinky-dink festivals out there. The film has won a lot of awards, which is great, but fluffy language should be limited and simply listing every award the film has won is probably not doing much to avoid a promotional tone. I agree. I'm not sure the quotations are truly relevant to the film's reception, as they're coming from people people who run film festivals – not exactly neutral when the film is at their festival. Of course they're going to say nice things about it. The list of awards does seem indiscriminate, and it may require pruning. If no secondary, independent source cares to report that a film won an award, why should Wikipedia? Leave those kinds of awards to the IMDb to catalog. I am sorry to have removed the tags. I did not realize the process. I am not directly associated with the film but know the people behind it who are also new to this. They created this based on how other similar wiki articles were treated hence it seemed like the right thing to do. . But based on your expert inputs I agree that the sources are not reliable and there are rinky-dink festivals that need not be a part of the wikipedia. I also aspire to learn from you all and get better at editing wikipedia articles to maintain and enhance its integrity. Can we delete some festivals? I think Under Critical Reception, the festival list is also not needed. Please advise? Aterrence (talk) 19:20, 21 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
