Overall Review edit

I combined the Body Coloration section under Description. I thought that this made organizational sense in the article especially because the Description section had very little information on its own. I think any writing on the physical appearance of the lizard should fall under description and a subsection titled “Body Coloration” could be included if desired. I made several grammatical edits in the taxonomy and behavior sections to improve concision and spelling. I made the most significant changes to this article within the behavior portion. I felt the most interesting and important section should be the behavior paragraphs because of the “scuba diving” capability of this lizard. I felt this section was brief considering this behavior is one of the species’ key abilities and should be focused on. I added details on the transition from rock or tree to water and how the lizard forms the bubble. I also discussed and cited another article about oxygen saturation of the bubble, which demonstrated that the bubble was being used for rebreathing. Also, I discussed the physiological functions of rebreathing and the performance benefits to the air bubble in the behavior section. I cited another primary article discussing these benefits and physiological processes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evanmbradley (talkcontribs) 05:22, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

I enhanced the organization of this Wikipedia page by adding in a heading of "Physical description" as well as adding subheadings of "Physiological" and "Social" under the "Behavior" heading. I also rephrased a couple of sentences and resolved some grammar issues to make the entry more efficient and succinct. Ritu27 (talk) 21:55, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

All of the changes I made were pertaining to sentence structure and wording. In the body coloration section, I reworded 2 sentences to make the article more concise and low better. In the predators section, I reworded the information about the lizard deciding whether to swim upstream or downstream. Under the "Reproduction" and "Population" sections, I just removed a few words to make the information more clear. Edickerson1 (talk) 05:44, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Predation edit

In the section, 'Predation', only one brief sentence was written. Therefore, for this section, I found a research article and added on the following below to give this section more depth and information: "When threatened, the Anolis aquaticus partakes in a combination of surface swimming and “scuba diving”. These anti-predatory behaviors allow this lizard to migrate between the banks and boulders of its habitat into nearby streams. These behaviors may allow the water anole to swim a short distance upstream the movement of a current or they will allow the downstream current to a different location. In both scenarios, the water anole’s ability to remain underwater for a prolonged period enables them to engage in both effective anti-predatory strategies."[1]

Although I think that my additions to this section has helped bolster the information in this Wikipedia page, I believe that more information should be added to this section to bring like to the predation that the water anole experiences in nature and the anti-predatory behaviors that this lizard enacts in order to avoid danger/predators.

Overall Comments edit

I think that this article is overall very good. I think that this article covers a broad range of topics and most of the information presented is well cited (13 references).

I would suggest, however, adding a 'Description' header at some point in the beginning of the article. While the Taxonomy section does a good job providing a background of this lizard, I think that it is also important to include a section that is dedicated to the physical traits of the water anole. If this is added, it would be nice to also include a visual representation of the lizard next to the description to bring life to the descriptive words. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarah-Jayne Mabee (talkcontribs) 19:31, 18 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
