Catagorization

Isn't the United Nations headquarters an area of extraterritoriality and should it be listed there, instaed of being a seperate entry. Similarly should'nt Guantanamo Bay be listed there instead of a seperate entry.

Ceuta and Melilla are part of the plazas de soberanía not seperate from them (so it should indicated includeing instaed of alongside).

Sealand

The effect of this example is SEO, a better page rank for the controversial topic. Sealand is abused as virtual platform for utter dubious activities.

A rel="nofollow" could defeat this side-effect, if that's supported here somehow, I've no idea. Using other harmless and / or historical example micronations would be good enough. Omniplex 11:19, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

Language of this article?

Any justification for an individual exemption for Kosovo from the exclusion from the main list of all territories under the control of UN peacekeeping missions needs to be discussed and agreed in detail. DSuser 13:13, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Name

The current article title is unacceptable as it makes no sense on its own terms, as an independent list. What about List of entities not considered countries?--Pharos 18:51, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, technically it is a "list of entities sometimes considered countries, but which are not formally considered countries for our purposes". I was hoping "list of entities not considered countries" might be an acceptable shorthand for that. Of course it should be understood that for certain items (e.g. provinces), we will list types, rather than all examples. Some variations could be list of political entities not considered countries or list of types of political entities not considered countries — any other suggestions?--Pharos 20:18, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

It needs to be merged in some way with the main article. Perhaps the main article can lead with the main list and end with the lengthy treatment on what is and is not included.Zebulin (talk) 23:02, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

British States

Should the following be included?
Isle of Man
States of Jersey
States of Guernsey

These entities exist within the British Isles but have their own governments. They are represented internationally by the government of the United Kingdom but are not part of it. To my mind they have similar status to the constituent countries of the UK and should be mentioned there. Anyone have any objection?
