Elle chante vraiment bien, elle mérite une médaille de ma part malgré que c'est un impossible de le faire.👏 169.159.218.236 (talk) 22:22, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps it matters not at this point, but generally you should try to use English when posting on English Wikipedia article talk pages because it makes it easoer for others to respond. Moreover, if you want to compliment Wilson's singing, you might try doing so via social media or some other way since your post isn't really appropriate for a Wikipedia article talk page per WP:NOTFORUM. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:40, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Tone and Notoriety Issues edit

The issues I've found with tone and information inclusion while editing this page today are too many to list in the edit summary.

After reviewing Wikipedia’s standards for BLPs I have made edits to the tone, language, and content of Anne Wilson’s page on the grounds that many of the inline citations were poorly sourced or repetitive.

Due to the impact of her brother’s death on her life and career, I felt it was appropriate to include one quotation from Wilson on the subject. I excluded additional quotations that repeated the same sentiment.

Much of the “career” section of the previous edit was restating information from the discography section without any additional information. Since information about her music including release dates, album names, and chart positions is available elsewhere on the page, I have omitted listing the same information in sentence form.

According to Billboard.com, Wilson has zero No.1 Hits and zero Top 10 Hits of her two songs that have made Billboard 200. While she is highly ranked in the Christian Airplay Chart, this chart is behind a paywall on Billboard’s website.

The previous length of Wilson’s page was not a reflection of her notoriety. Wilson herself has earned a place as a high-profile and noteworthy person, but unfortunately many of the people, anecdotes, and quotes included in the previous version do not meet the same high-profile standards. Additionally, the publication of Wilson’s feelings on each step of her career and life do not justify the inclusion of these statements on her Wikipedia page.

I respect the Wikipedians who took the time to add 87 references to Wilson’s page, including 29 references to Billboard for charts in the bottom half of the page. I hope to receive the same respect for reviewing all 58 of the other references alongside Wikipedia’s guidelines for reliable sources and narrowing them down to 30 containing information pertinent to the subject.

I also took time to review the Wikipedia pages for other Christian musicians of similar notoriety including Hope Darst and Aaron Cole to match this page’s length and focus with information on existing articles. Once Wilson achieves more success, a longer lasting legacy, or notoriety outside of a niche, it may become appropriate to reincorporate some of the information I have deleted today. There’s a reason there’s a Wikipedia page for each individual episode of NBC’s Friends but not for every episode of Zoboomafoo and it isn’t because people don’t like animated lemurs. No matter how delightful some people find Zoboomafoo, it’d take a lot of artificial inflation of importance to stretch that show beyond its two seasons, niche audience, and single Emmy win.

All that said, if there are any issues with the changes I made here, my Talk page is open and I am following this page. I have bias like everyone else, check me back. Yungli0n (talk) 16:57, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
