the word "stateless"
editI read thoroughly the article for the word "stateless" and by its definition, Anne Frank didn't become stateless. she was Jewish, her mother was jewish - that is how Jewish citizenship is passed - Jus sanguinis from a mother. Alaska0909 (talk) 21:50, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Pls review ...."How citizenship eluded Anne Frank?". Citizenship by Investment Journal. 2019-11-22. Moxy🍁 22:36, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Dutch and German - yes, they did, but NOT Israel. By the law of the country if your mother is Jewish - you are Jewish and are eligible for Israel citizenship. The fact that she didn't apply doesn't change it.
- Stateless means there is no state, and no proof of citizenship. She just didn't have the papers. Which doesn't make her stateless. Just having administrative difficulties. Pls. review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statelessness
- Did she have a birth certificate with her mother in it? Alaska0909 (talk) 17:54, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
- At that time, Jewish citizenship did not exist. Dead people do not get an extra citizenship of a country. tgeorgescu (talk) 03:14, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
