This is basically a rock in the ocean and a whole page is not needed for it. I move to merge to Anguilla page

mmmm - I'm not convinced, whoever you are. Thius is the southernmost point in Anguilla, and it may well be that more can be written about it. As it is, I've more than doubled the size of the article with just a small amount of digging online. I think it's perfectly acceptable as is. Grutness...wha? 06:11, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dubious data

edit

Negative average elevation is highly unusual for a rock in the ocean, yet he only link is to a shabby web atlas that refers to this very same article for "detailed facts". As the "island" seems to be divided by a little strait, I suspect that for some unclear reason, this strait is calculated into the area of the island, and that's why the data gets weird. (BTW: "A statistical account of the West India islands" by Richard Swainson Fisher, 1855, calls it Anguilleta. I'm not sure this is enough to add a parallel (historical?) name, but if it should surface elsewhere, maybe we might include it.) --Oop (talk) 07:40, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dubious identification

edit

Dictionnaire géographique universel, tome premier, A. J. Kilian, Libraire, Paris, 1823, puts Anguillet(t)a (French spelling) North-East of Anguilla. So does Élisée Reclus, Nouvelle Géographie universelle, 1891. I find modern references too (Jean-Pierre Calbrix, Un espace temps rêvé, 2011). So Anguilletta is Scrub Island, eh?
