I firmly believe that this artist is of notablity and do not understand why you have nominated my article of her for deletion. Please explain. Karen —Preceding unsigned comment added by Noakk (talkcontribs)

This artist is quite notable, she has published articles and been interveiwed by popular TV programs, newspapers, has received prestigious awards and is in important collections. Please explain the request for speedy deletionNoakk (talk) 20:53, 21 May 2010 (UTC).Reply
I took the liberty of moving your comments here where they belong, from the article main page, where comments do not go. Edison (talk) 21:01, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

The artist does not meet Wikipedia guidelines for artists. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 21:05, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

AFD is thataway. I do not agree that A7 speedy fits, so declining speedy. Edison (talk) 21:22, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
There appear to be additional print references and prizes not found online; see [1]on page "Artist:" Awards and prizes, exhibitions and bibliography. Her website says she won several prizes including "1999 Premio Italia 1st prize painting, Florence" and "1999 SANTIÀ , “Antonio Baratta prize“ National Exhibition of contemporary painting, Italy." If verified by citation to a newspaper or other reliable source, this would help show notability. Her site also cites "Roberta Fiorini, “Ironic daily Fables,“ cover article for the magazine Eco D’Arte Moderna, Jul-Sept. 1999" and "Karen Gardener, “Local artist has come a long way,“ The Frederick News Post, 13 January 1995." The artist's webpage also claims coverage twice on the Todayt Show and once on CNN, which, if documented, would weigh somewhat toward notability. " Edison (talk) 21:37, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have revised the article and will continue as I research/follow this artist. I have mentioned why I consider the artist is notable and added many reliable references. Thank you for helping me understand the reasons for your nomination and please reconsider it. Now that the editing language is more familiar I am studying the wikipedia visual arts project to contribute to. Noakk (talk) 16:35, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

at moment the article is complete, there may be some more references available like the Karen Gardener article of the Frederick News Post mentioned by Edison. Thank you for your help with my first full article. Noakk (talk) 10:43, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
