German ancestry

Does anyone have a source that he's of significant German ancestry? I've removed the category until someone provides one. JackO'Lantern 05:14, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Richter is obviously a German name. 67.160.226.96 09:08, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

O'Neal is "obviously" an Irish name. Somehow I don't think Shaq is of Irish decent... TheHYPO

And here's where common sense is supposed to kick in. Andy Richter is white, and when white immigrants to the United States changed their surnames, they used British names like Jones and Smith. Since Richter is not a British name, Richter is the prodigy of white European immigrants to the United States, and Richter is not the descendant of African slaves, it's safe to assume that he is of German descent.

There's your problem. Nothing is "safe to assume" on wikipedia. Wikipedia requires cited facts. Besides which, what if his father's father's father was German (hence the name). Every other member of his family for 3 generations has been completely Irish. Is there is point or validity in listing him as a comedian of German ancestry? Wikipedia expressly discourages "logical assumption" based on something circumstacial like this. TheHYPO

trying to upload an image but wikipedia won't let me

Just making a change here so I can get 'autoconfirmed' so I can upload a relevant image.

College Degree?

Does anyone know exactly how long he went to college or if he got a degree? On a side note I just watched celebrity jeopardy where He competed against Wolf Blitzer. After 2 rounds Wolf Blitzer had -4600, Andy had 39000. Do you think his Jeopardy appearance is relevant?173.74.130.99 (talk) 16:59, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Celebrity Jeopardy

He also won Celebrity Jeopardy in 1999.

Lutheran?

Richter is listed under "List of non theists" yet in this article it says he is a Lutheran. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.19.110.68 (talk) 09:40, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

A further notification will be placed when/if the image is deleted. This notification is provided by a Bot, currently under trial --CommonsNotification (talk) 12:03, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned Line?

Section Andy_Richter#Conan reads
"[He reprised roles as] sidekick and participant in comedy sketches. However he continues to be an adherant member in the success of Conan."
2 observations here-

  1. The conjoiner "However" is confusing since these 2 sentences appear to be mutually supportive rather than contrasting.
  2. ...But then the modifying terms also need work- - eg., - WHAT is "an adherant member"?

Who knows what was intended here? I suggest editors closer to the article re-consider what appears to be a strangely worded, orphan sentence. I suggest this last sentence could simply be deleted without changing this section's content.

He was on arrested development season 4 (2013)

There seems to be no mention of this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.171.119.216 (talk) 05:38, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

"Richter appears in the Fox series Arrested Development in the 2006 episode "S.O.B.s." He plays every member of a fictional group of identical Richter quintuplets, Donnie, Chareth, Rocky, Emmett, and himself. He reprises the roles in several episodes of season 4.[13]" Not enough for you? JesseRafe (talk) 08:49, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
