Noblity

edit

"He was of the gentry (although some authors say he came from impoverished nobility)"

What is this supposed to mean? In Poland there was no "gentry" or "nobility", all the noble people were considered equal and called "szlachta". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.221.139.167 (talk) 16:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why are the Polis translations treated as they were the original ones?

edit

If I can hardly guess the reason for putting Polish translations of Modrzewski's works' titles (we are on English Wiki), quotation "Without laws there can be no true freedom." (Bez praw nie może być prawdziwej wolności.) suggest taht it was originally written in Polish, which is a false. Kameal (talk) 00:25, 2 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
