According to the Miami Herald Gillum was found in a room with bags of possible crystal meth and in the company of a man who appeared to have overdosed on drugs, according to a Miami Beach police report.

FBI Investigation

Let's put it this way. I saw an interview with him this morning on Meet the Press in which he was asked about the FBI Investigation. I came to Wikipedia to find out about this, since I knew nothing of it. NOTHING THERE! So yes, there should be a discussion of this in the Wikipedia article on Andrew Gillum. ---Dagme (talk) 19:40, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

@Dagme: Should there be? "I took a client before the grand jury and they didn’t ask one question about the mayor,” Andrews said he told a Washington Post reporter. "The mayor’s name never came up." There's plenty of places to find info on the FBI investigation. Putting it here risks violating a whole host of Wikipedia policies, like WP:UNDUE and WP:COATRACK. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:45, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

First term

We should not describe Gillum as a "first term" mayor in the lead. Mayors do not automatically get multiple terms nor is Gillum running for second term. It is not common practice to use such a descriptor for a holder of a political office. See, for example, Bill de Blasio and Sadiq Khan. - MrX 🖋 11:20, 17 September 2018 (UTC)

"Racial dog whistle" and "crazy, crazy, crazies"

Why does it say that calling someone a "thief" is a "racial dog whistle" and using only one article at an anti-Trump newspaper as the source? Thieves come in all colors and ethnicities, it has nothing to do with race. This should be revised or taken out unless there's multiple journalists making this charge with supporting evidence. Also in the political positions section, after the PolitiFact argument that it's false Gillum is far-left, there should be a note that a now-fired Gillum staffer was caught on tape confirming that Gillum is a "progressive" and "part of the crazy, crazy, crazies." The former staffer and Gillum associate also repeatedly referred to Florida as a "fucked up cracker state," Gillum was running a campaign to appeal to "white guilt," and stated that "it's not for voters to know" that "Gillum's programs will never happen."[1] There should also be a note that Gillum fired the staffer after these revelations came to light, and threw the staffer under the bus. 99.50.80.96 (talk) 03:08, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

During Mayor Andrew Gillum's 2018 run for Florida governor, besides those quotes from dailywire and facebook for which Gillum got into hot water, some of Gillum's problem statements were summed up by the undercover whistleblower political activist group Project Veritas at their Project Veritas Action site. It may be never that multiple-source verifiability becomes available since most political staffers value their political careers, they remain silent. Section about 2018 Gubernatorial Election is out-of-date

The section entitled "2018 Gubernatorial Election" includes (as of this date) the sentence: As of November 11, DeSantis leads Gillum by 4,075,869 to 4,042,176 votes, or 49.6 to 49.2 percent

That's out of date.

At the least, since we are a year past that point, the tense should be changed. Maybe somebody who follows Gillum could update this. Son of eugene (talk) 18:04, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

RfC on Gay Prostitute Credibility

The New York Post citation about Gillum being caught with a gay prostitute is repeatedly being taken down, but it hasn't been declared that the NYP is an unreliable source on Wiki. Thus, I'm requesting a RfC. HorseDonkey (talk) 02:57, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

Gotcha. So the issue is that not enough reputable sources have published the gay prostitution issue? Since the section I found dealing with this issue said this: "In the case of public figures, there will be a multitude of reliable published sources, and BLPs should simply document what these sources say. If an allegation or incident is noteworthy, relevant, and well documented, it belongs in the article—even if it is negative and the subject dislikes all mention of it. If you cannot find multiple reliable third-party sources documenting the allegation or incident, leave it out." HorseDonkey (talk) 04:17, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
