editvery poorly written...how can you go from early life to essentially his first solo album? Outkast and Andre had a very important career BEFORE they won album of the year, you have to be crazy to ignore the most essential part of this guy's life. Also they can add a little more deatil to thw whole life and carreer history! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.178.143.29 (talk) 01:06, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Education?
editI read somewhere that Andre 3000 has a music-related Phd. Is this true? I'd like to see some information on what sort of musical education (or educaation in general) he has. --Howdybob 00:59, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'd like to see anything about his music/instrument training. Self taught? Schooled? What's the story and what does he play? Hey Ya! shows him with several instruments and I wonder how many does he actually play.MartinezMD (talk) 20:43, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Bill Bixon
editOn Punk'd, Andrew Benjamin identifies himself as Bill Bixon? Is this his original name?
- No, Bill Bixon is most likely an alias (he grew up distrusting the police, after all). His real (original) name is André Benjamin (see the beginning of the article). -kotra 01:51, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
If Andre Benjamin is his real name, why does it say "Andre Marcotte" or whatever? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.33.103.168 (talk) 01:54, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I can't find a deeper source regarding the Jimi Hendrix biography. http://www.iftn.ie/news/?act1=record&only=1&aid=73&rid=4284896&tpl=archnews&force=1 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.91.132.133 (talk) 02:24, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Aliases
editAn alias is a name people will know you by - most of the aliases listed are simply joke names that he used on one occasion, not actual aliases. I think the section should be removed - unless anyone says it shouldn't, I will in a little while. Luminifer (talk) 20:46, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm tempted to agree. Maybe keep some, the thing about the aliases listed on Stankonia is relevant and he was/is definitely referred to as Dre numerous times. Fol de rol troll (talk) 21:51, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think it could be pulled up into a sentence in another sentence, at that. Tell you what - if you want, you can make the change... :) Luminifer (talk) 22:06, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

- Hahah, well, I'm in no rush as yet - I don't want someone to come along and undo it. That happens a lot - even if I mention it on the talk page first! Luminifer (talk) 03:24, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- I actually came here for this. I think they should be added, just the names (under aliases?). If they are mentioned in some of his songs, why shouldn't they be in the article for clarity? I am thinking mainly of the 4 or so used at the Stankonia era, Dookie Blossom Gain III, Aloysius Possum Jenkins, and Johnny Vulture (already there), he plays each of these characters and himself in the Hey Ya! video. I am adding them back under aliases, the two I guess. Not sure if it's rep but I got a source too. Angryredplanet (talk) 15:06, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

3 stacks?
editWhy does 3 Stacks redirect here? Is it one of his stage names? --91.89.20.25 (talk) 19:51, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, 3 stacks means 3000. He refers to himself as 3 stacks in several songs including UGK's International Player's Anthem. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.155.185.195 (talk) 19:45, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Info Not in Original Source Cited
editIn the reference to his arrest due to speeding, it is mentioned that he was driving the car of his friend the "famed poet Justin Ryan Fyfe" but the source that is cited [1] at the end of the sentence, does not say anything about a "Justin Ryan Fyfe". This seems like a case of vandalism. Can someone check it out because I am a bit rusty with contributing in Wikipedia (still don't know my way :)). Thanks. Nasr (talk) 11:14, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Madagascar 3
editI have just deleted the complete nonsense about him replacing Bernie Mac as Zuba in Madagascar 3 as it is unsourced and the first few Google hits are from various Wikis and no official sources are given anywhere and the only Madagascar 3 reference on the Dreamworks site only is here and there is no reference of Andre 3000 listed anywhere there either. Plus we don't know what is up with Doc Hudson's, Fillmore's and Red's voice actors in Pixar's upcoming Cars 2 yet either. trainfan01 21:04, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Homage to Futura 2000?
editDoes anyone know if he took his name as an homage to graffiti artist Futura 2000? If so, that would be a nice thing to note.--Spiff666 (talk) 21:16, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
Where was he born?
editThe article currently says Coral Springs but not only did the sources not mention this, but I searched all over the web and every website I looked at said he was born in Atlanta. The Outkast website doesn't mention where he was born either. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.99.158.197 (talk) 00:10, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Orphaned references in André 3000
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of André 3000's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
