Evidence towards the correct spelling of Sjögren’s name can be found here:

  • The National Biography of Finland, published by the Finnish Literature Society.
  • Suomalais-Ugrilaisen Seuran Toimituksia (SuST)/Mémoires de la Société Finno-Ougrienne (MSFOu)
    • 152. 1973. 292 p. Michael Branch, A. J. Sjögren: Studies of the North. (ISBN 951-9019-04-9) 20 €.

You cannot get a more prestigious view on this matter than this.

Michael Branch is actually the author in both cases, SuST/MSFOu 152 his dissertation (SuST/MSFOu 152). Apanuggpak (talk) 16:39, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Only the first of your two links actually has his spelling in it, rather than just the initial. In LIBRIS I find works written by him both under the spelling Anders and the spelling Andreas, slightly more using the latter spelling. So obviously he used both spellings himself, and it is not really obvious which form is the WP:COMMONNAME. Tomas e (talk) 12:57, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
