Redirect "Anchorage" to Anchorage, Alaska? edit

Shouldn't "Anchorage" be a redirect to Anchorage, Alaska? Using Special:Whatlinkshere, one can see that the vast majority of the links are intended for the US city in Alaska; a few (13, specifically) were intended for "a place where a ship lies at anchor", but I changed all of the links to point to the anchor page rather than this dab page. True, anchorage is a word that has a meaning other than the city, but this situation seems very similar to that of Providence; a large US city is the primary topic, even though the name of the city also has a separate dictionary definition. Using the traffic statistics tool, we can see that Anchorage, Alaska is clearly the primary topic; it gets almost 3 times as many readers per month than even the anchor article, and no other meanings of "Anchorage" are nearly as significant. So, I propose that we move this dab page to Anchorage (disambiguation) and redirect "Anchorage" to Anchorage, Alaska, with a dismabiguation hatnote on the top of article. Comments? This was done shortly after the preceding remark was posted, and then today someone chose to simply redirect it to anchor which I don't think makes a lot of sense for exactly the reasons described above. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:24, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
